Turn alert emails into incidents.

Configure an authorized sender and Runframe turns incoming emails into incidents. Subject becomes the title, body becomes the context. Reply to incident emails to add comments.

How it works

1

Configure email intake

In Runframe settings, enable email intake and select which service incoming emails should create incidents on. Set the authorized sender email address.

2

Point your alerts at Runframe

Add Runframe as a notification target in your monitoring tool. When an alert fires, the tool sends an email. Runframe receives it and creates an incident.

3

Reply to incidents via email too

Incident notification emails include the incident number in the subject. Reply to that email and your message is added to the incident timeline as a comment.

What the integration does

Works with any tool that sends email

Older monitoring systems, SaaS tools without webhook support, internal scripts. If it can send an email alert, it can create a Runframe incident.

Subject becomes the title

The email subject line is used as the incident title. Runframe strips Re: and Fwd: prefixes so the title stays clean.

Body becomes incident context

The email body is attached as the initial context on the incident (up to 2000 chars). Alert details, thresholds, affected hosts are visible to responders from the start.

Reply to add comments

When you receive an incident notification email with [INC-XXX] in the subject, reply to it. Your reply is added to the incident timeline. No need to open the dashboard.
