Zoom

Add Zoom to Runframe, create incident war rooms, troubleshoot setup, and remove the app.

Overview

Runframe uses Zoom to create incident war rooms. When an active incident needs a live call, Runframe creates a Zoom meeting and stores the join link on the incident.

This integration is for live incident response. It does not schedule calendar meetings or manage general Zoom meetings.

Adding the app

Prerequisites:

  • A Runframe account with an active organization
  • Permission to manage integrations in Runframe
  • A Zoom account that can authorize marketplace apps for your Zoom account
  • A Zoom user who can authorize Runframe and create meetings

To add Zoom:

  1. Sign in to Runframe.
  2. Navigate to Organization then Integrations Hub.
  3. Find Zoom in the Communication section.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. You will be redirected to Zoom.
  6. Review the requested Zoom permissions and authorize Runframe.
  7. After Zoom redirects you back to Runframe, confirm that the Zoom card shows Connected.
  8. Open an active incident and create a Zoom war room to confirm the connection works.

If setup fails or the Zoom card does not show as connected, see the Troubleshooting guide.

Usage

Create a Zoom war room

Use this when an incident needs synchronous coordination, such as a SEV0 or SEV1 response, a cross-team investigation, or a customer-impacting outage.

Prerequisites:

  • Zoom is connected in Integrations Hub
  • The incident is active
  • You have permission to edit incidents in Runframe
  • The Zoom user associated with the bridge can create meetings

Steps:

  1. Open the incident in Runframe.
  2. Click Create War Room.
  3. Choose Zoom if Runframe asks you to select a war room provider.
  4. Runframe creates the Zoom meeting and attaches the join URL to the incident.
  5. Responders join the meeting from the incident page.

Join an existing Zoom war room

Use this when a Zoom war room has already been created for the incident.

Prerequisites:

  • The incident already has an active, unexpired war room

Steps:

  1. Open the incident in Runframe.
  2. Find the war room link on the incident.
  3. Click the Zoom join link.

Data and permissions

Runframe requests Zoom meeting permissions so it can create incident war room meetings. Runframe stores encrypted OAuth credentials for the connected organization and stores the Zoom meeting ID and join URL on the related Runframe incident.

Runframe does not store Zoom meeting recordings, chat transcripts, participant lists, or the Zoom host start URL.

Removing the app

You can remove the Zoom integration from Runframe or from your Zoom account.

Remove Zoom from Runframe

  1. Sign in to Runframe.
  2. Navigate to Organization then Integrations Hub.
  3. Find the Zoom card.
  4. Click the disconnect or trash icon.
  5. Confirm Yes, Disconnect.
  6. Confirm that the Zoom card no longer shows Connected.

Remove Runframe from Zoom

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Open Manage, then Added Apps.
  3. Find Runframe.
  4. Click Remove.
  5. Confirm the removal in Zoom.

After removing the app in Zoom, also disconnect Zoom in Runframe if the Runframe card still shows as connected.

What happens after removal

  • Runframe can no longer create new Zoom war rooms for incidents.
  • Existing Runframe incidents, timeline records, audit logs, and previously stored war room join links may remain available for incident history.
  • Runframe does not delete existing Zoom meetings from your Zoom account.
  • The Runframe-side Zoom integration is deactivated when you disconnect it in Runframe.
  • OAuth credentials are no longer used for meeting creation after the integration is disconnected or de-authorized.
  • You can reconnect Zoom later from Integrations Hub.

To request deletion of broader Runframe organization data, contact support@runframe.io. Removing the Zoom app only removes the Zoom integration; it does not delete your Runframe organization, incidents, users, postmortems, or billing records.
