Connecting Linear

  1. Navigate to Integrations Hub
  2. Click Connect next to Linear. You'll be redirected to Linear to authorize
  3. Grant Runframe access to create and read Linear issues
  4. Confirm the Linear card shows Connected

Creating a Linear issue from an incident

  1. Open an incident in the Runframe dashboard
  2. Click Create Linear Issue in the work items area
  3. Select the Linear team, priority, and due date
  4. Fill in the issue details
  5. The issue is created and linked to the incident

Status syncing

When a Linear issue status changes, Runframe is notified via webhook and updates the work item status in the incident view.

  • Linear to Runframe: Status transitions in Linear update the work item in Runframe
  • Runframe record: The Linear issue link, team, priority, due date, and current status stay attached to the incident

Use with postmortems

After a postmortem, create Linear issues for each action item to ensure follow-through. Action items linked to Linear issues show their real-time status in the postmortem view.

Removing the app

You can remove the Linear integration from Runframe at any time.

Remove Linear from Runframe

  1. Sign in to Runframe.
  2. Navigate to Organization then Integrations Hub.
  3. Find the Linear card.
  4. Click Configure.
  5. Click Disconnect.
  6. Confirm Disconnect.
  7. Confirm that the Linear card no longer shows Connected.

What happens after removal

  • Runframe can no longer create new Linear issues from incidents or postmortems.
  • Existing incident records and previously linked Linear issue URLs remain available for incident history.
  • Linear issues that were already created are not deleted from Linear.
  • Status updates from Linear stop syncing back to Runframe.
  • You can reconnect Linear later from Integrations Hub.
